“Dawn of the Ashen Queen” is like a throwback to those old-school 90s RPGs, with that classic grid-based, first-person dungeon vibe, you and your party are on a mission to dig up the story behind an ancient curse in a world full of secrets.
As you explore Eshavon you will face off against enemies trying to block your path and the whole journey is packed with a deep, story-driven experience. Eshavon’s been in pieces since the Grand War ended three years back.
There’s a shaky peace now between the Darok tribes in the north and the Imperial Kingdom down south. You’re an Emissary for the Grand Marshal, basically trying to help put things back together. But things go south when you hit a border town, only for it to be attacked, leaving you stranded.
Teaming up with some unlikely allies, it’s on you now to protect the empire and uncover a plot that threatens not just your kingdom but the whole continent and the game has a ton of depth in character creation.
You can pick from different races, classes, traits and abilities, customizing each character’s strengths. Along the way three unique NPCs join you each with their own personality, adding a lot of flavor and banter to the story.
The gameplay itself is super immersive with text-based cutscenes, dialogues, and plenty of twists that pull you into the plot. And there’s more than just fighting—you’ll be exploring secret doors, illusionary walls, and brain-teasing puzzles.
Watch out for traps that will catch careless adventurers off-guard. Combat is real time and you get a bunch of options to fight with everything from sharp weapons and magic spells to smart abilities. Eshavon’s a colorful world with lush forests, dark caves, icy mountains, spooky crypts, foggy woods and ancient halls from a forgotten age waiting for you to explore.
