About BACKWARD POIESIS
“Backward Poiesis” is a short horror game made by a Japanese student that gives off some serious creepy vibes. The story kicks off with a guy, Mr. A (not his real name), who moves into a new house and stumbles upon an old video camera.
Just out of curiosity, he switches it on, but what he finds is pretty unsettling—random, weird footage that does not make any sense. This game is like a walking simulator with a spooky twist where you get to experience what it feels like to be the one behind the camera, re living the eerie footage.
Backward Poiesis story is inspired by real interviews. The creator was contacted by someone who randomly found the camera and suggested turning the disturbing recordings into a game. What makes it even scarier is that the game includes audio and visuals based on actual interviews and attempts to show a horror story grounded in real life events.
The footage is vague and doesn’t clearly show why or what was being filmed, but it feels linked to those eerie internet trends like Liminal Spaces and Backrooms. Even the game’s creator admits they couldn’t fully grasp Mr. A’s story, leaving players to decide for themselves what’s real or not based on the recreated footage and Mr. A’s words. It’s like being thrown into a mystery with no clear answers, only unsettling vibes.
How to Download & Install BACKWARD POIESIS
