In “The Journey of AutUmn,” you control an android who starts off as a nameless, remote-controlled worker. Main mission of android is to collect information about a planet for its creators, who are planning to recolonize it. He is guided by an AI named AC-0209.
After an accident, the remote control breaks, and the android gains the ability to make his own choices. Now, he’s not just an empty vessel for AC-0209, but a partner—something the AI isn’t happy about, especially since the AI doesn’t have a body and is carried around by the android in a “multifunctional tool.” Despite these challenges, they try to complete their mission.
During his adventure, the android meets strange creatures like moth cats, broccoli animals, flying stream rays, huge tentacle plants, and other AIs that have been on the planet for centuries without a purpose, making them a bit odd. The Android learns about the history of the planet and its builders which requires struggle. The little android with the big head faces a big choice: Does he want to be just a tool for his builders, or become an independent being?
You can get classic inventory puzzles, exploration, and some unique side characters, as these are included in the game. While this might remind some people of famous classics like Monkey Island or Grim Fandango, it is now that comparison. Further, this game has many features from the beloved Lucas Arts games of the past, like long chains of puzzles and quirky characters (quirky characters on a deserted planet get ready to be surprised!).
